Take it easy. N…

Take it easy. Nothing you do matters as much as you think. Your greatest achievements aren’t yours at all, they’re accidents and jokes. You’re a puppet, the universe does the work, and it gets the most done when you’re moving the least. Surrender, flow, relax. Don’t be hard on yourself, don’t put pressure on yourself, life is just a chain of experiments and results, and you’ll be perfect when you’re dead.” — Dan Harmon

CHOICES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HELPFUL RIGHT?

NOT. NO. NEIN. SALAH. WRONG. NON. IIE. NAW.

I have two choices you see, between joining (several colleges that has Creative Writing) and solely pursuing that OR join St. John’s, the most extraordinary and unique college I have stumble upon.

St. Johns has this Great Books Program. Within the four years you learn maths (calculus, astronomy and geometry) as well as language (Greek and French). You also will have seminar (literature, philosophy and classics), three of those four years for science (biology, physics and chemistry), one of four for music. None of these with textbooks but rather primary source materials. Students will read Euclid (for geometry for example) and Plato through philosophy and Newton for physics and so on.

Here is my reasoning to study at (selected colleges for Creative Writing, specifically). I would learn all there is to know about how to write fiction and poetry and so on. The specific technics and tips.

On the other hand, there is this side of me, sometimes overthrown what with my short attention spam, this side can be powerful and alive when it is around specific people, discussing ideas. The philosophy side. This side craves for a knowledge of the whole (even though I’m not a big fan or the sciences: physics and chemistry) but perhaps it is because I was never properly exposed.

I believe that there’s more to life than just working 9 to 5 with a corner desk, a dead plant and a dead end job. It’s never about the A grades and the name brand college, it’s about the education, what you learn and how you apply. Of those 4 (or more) years you are connected with the said institution, do you learn and grow or do you just read and memorize ?

I want to learn the world, every nook and cranny, every crevices. In addition, I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) that if I enter St. John’s with its wide array of education I could apply whatever I’ve learn for the stories that I am creating/have created/will create. Is there going to be a story with some music influence in it? Sure, why not! And what’s the name of (insert musical note or something) OH I REMEMBER BECAUSE I LEARN THAT SHIT UP. And stuck on a sci fi themed book? Use a Faraday cage as a getaway!

It’s freaking APPLES AND ORANGES I TELL YA.

On a side note, HAPPY NEW YEARS AND WORK TO BE A BETTER YOU TOMORROW TODAY.
